It was a case of third time lucky for Laois on Sunday in TEG Cusack Park when they were crowned Leinster Intermediate Champions having fallen at the final hurdle in 2024 and 2025.
They were made to work hard for their win against a resilient Kildare team but this Laois team are making a habit of winning having claimed the Division 3A League title and then backing it up with the All Ireland Premier Junior crown in 2025.
Despite that it was Kildare that got off to the better start and led for most of the first half but Laois finished the half stronger to lead by two points at half time.
The second half was a similar tight affair with both teams giving their all and in the closing stages there was the bare minimum separating the sides. However that afore mentioned winning experience saw Laois over the line with the final score reading 1-15 to 1-13.
Well done to both teams on a hugely entertaining final. Our sincere thanks to everyone involved in Westmeath GAA and Camogie for their help in making the occasion so special
